From Montréal, Québec

Meet Butler (that’s his name),
He’s an old 1970 raleigh record frame with the original paint job and stem.
Flip flop wheel bought in the streets of San Francisco, FSA Vero crankset, 1/8” Kool chain.
Everything else was found in the backstreets of Montreal or was already owned.
This is my first fixie (used to ride a singlespeed bianchi for 2 years) and I ride with a 46/17 ratio.
Silencieux comme la nuit…

Benoit’s Gitane leader

May 7th, 2009 by admin (0) bike accessories,bikes,my style

Hello from France, here is my fixies:
-Frame: Gitane leader made with 531 reynolds tubes, special paint
-Fork: Giant carbone
-Handlebar: Bullhorn type with bar tape and gel set under (like a grandfather I like to be confortable)
-Stems: look titanium
-Seapost: skyde titanium
-Saddle: Brooks B17 copper
-Front wheel: Mavic
-Rear wheel: former tracks wheel with 17 teeth cogs
-Vintage campagnolo crankset with 39 teeth chainrigs
-Chain: KMC singlespeed
-Front brake: shimano 105 – nobody is perfect – I like to be able to stop quickly and this do this job so good
-Brake lever: Profile design QS2
-Pedals: shimano road – nobody is perfect again, I used them with my Sidi MTB shoes
-I have hab a Sigma cyclometer to now where I’m during my training period and also because I’m like a child with this kind of things
-I’m triathlete so I used it to go to my swimming pool trainning sessions (I add 25 km of biking per swimming session) and during winter for quick but good training (I hate long road training by cold days).
Hope you have pleasure to look at it
Benoit

And here’s my new creation, The Homo Satan, an offroad-fixed bike based on a vintage Marin frame (1991).
Some info: steel Tange oversize black matt frame, Spinner neon pink steel forks, Schwalbe offroad tyres, KMC track 1/8″ chain, Specialized rear and Shimano LX front hubs, 32X16, SMP seat, Shimano LX rear V-brake only (to control wheelies), Wolber chrome-titanium rims.
Bye!
